Millionaire Chess wants to congratulate Wayne Hatcher, 60, for being the first person to sign up for our tournament. Wayne, a wheelchair warrior, hails from the great state of Oklahoma and is currently at his highest rating, 1978, after playing chess for 50 years. He credits the Oklahoma Chess Foundation and International Arbiter Frank Berry for running fabulous events in Stillwater. He told me he wanted to start preparing for the "Tournament of [His] Life" without the issue of indecision in the way. He'll be attending the tournament with his wife, who gave him the thumbs up when he told her he wanted to attend. For making Millionaire Chess history, our team awarded Wayne and his wife a five-night free hotel stay at the tournament. Congratulations Wayne!
Thanks to Bruce Tendai Mubayiwa for his in-depth interview of Millionaire Chess partner Amy Lee on the informative site, AfricaChess.net. I'm happy to see Amy get recognized for her keen business mind, and to see her gain international recognition for her efforts to help take chess to the next level.
One of our Early Bird registrants is Jonathan F. Allen from Dallas, Texas. Millionaire Chess thanks and applauds people like Allen for being such amazing fans of the game.
