All players taking part in MC 3 need to be fully paid up members of USCF, with the exception of foreign titled players. USCF membership payments can be made as part of the normal registration process.
Foreign IM/GMs (non USA FIDE) are exempt from having to be US Chess members. However, they do need a USCF ID. They need to indicate their USCF ID number as "New" on the registration form.
Although a player must have a minimum of 60 rated games under either a national or FIDE rating system to qualify for an under section, any available rating information (even a rating based on fewer than 60 games) may be used to move a player into a higher section if, in the Chief Arbiter's opinion, the rating demonstrates the player's ability exceeds the limit for the section requested.
ALERT!! NEW PRIZE: REDEMPTION JACKPOT!!
Having a bad tournament? Feel like dropping out with nothing to play for in the last few rounds? This MC innovation will now allow you to win a prize if you play well in your last 3 rounds! This is how it works: Anyone with a score of 50% or less after 4 rounds can pay to enter the Redemption Jackpot. The top scorers in the last three rounds will take home one of 5 place prizes (in addition to any prize they might come back to win in the main tournament). The Redemption Jackpot will be open to the entire tournament of struggling performers after 4 rounds. More players, bigger pool, more winnings! Now there is no need to hang your head if you are doing badly. Show your fighting spirit to the bitter end, and you may walk away feeling like a champ!
Entry Fee: $100
